Welcome to crawforddressage!
After leaving America in February 2008 to work, learn, and train in Germany I realised I needed a way to keep friends, family, & clients up to date with what's happening in my fantastic life. So here is my project, crawforddressage.com. Crawford because it's my last name, dressage because it's what I love. I left "Eiren" out of the address because people can't seem to spell it if they hear it and if they only see "Eiren" I get called Irene, Ileen, Eern, etc., (sounds just like Erin, really). So, Crawforddressage it is.
Welcome and enjoy.

Here I will try to keep everyone updated with my adventures in Europe. I feel like I'm living a dream come true as I'm working for and learning from some of the best trainers in the world, and discovering life in a new country. I love to share my experiences with people who are interested.

CLINIC DATES: I love New England! A big thank you to all who participated and made this last trip so much fun for me. Next stop, British Columbia, Canada in March. If you are interested in working together please contact me for more info.

Home again

This morning I arrived back in sunny, warm Muenster, where spring is in full swing. Carmen picked me up at the airport and looked as if she'd been laying at the beach all week she is so tanned. This was a bit of a shock after the bleak weather I had in Canada, with snow hiding in shady places as a reminder of the long, cold winter.

However, what the weather lacked the people more than made up for. I had an amazing time teaching new and returning students and visiting great people. First Avondale Farm just outside of Saskatoon, SK was a great experience. It was my first visit but not my last! Wonderful people and dedicated riders made it a great three days and I look forward to returning.

As always the group at Talus Ridge Farm in Winfield, BC was awesome. It's nice to have a long history with a clinic location and be able to see the progress made over time between rider & horse. Time always goes by too fast and I feel lucky to have such an enthusiastic group there.

There will be no riding for me today- instead laundry, grocery shopping and trying to stay awake.  I'm already looking forward to work tomorrow and getting on with my group of horses. I've missed them!!

Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend.
Cheers,
Eiren

Repeating Myself
or: My Job is Still Better than Yours and My Smart Horse Part II

Last week was Ingrid's birthday and we all went for a hack along the Ems river. It's about 2 hours of good stuff. This is my job. Really. I rode Ingrid's new eventing horse, Tabasco. He is a saint. I've never been so relaxed or felt so safe on a hack. So safe in fact I thought it was a good idea to take the reins in one hand while galloping and try to take pictures with the other.

Friday Ike's owner came out with the breeding manager of the stallion Insterburg, Ike's sire. They took some pictures of my little friend and I think he looks very smart. The same cannot always be said for the rider...

Scroll down to see some pictures of both great days.

In about 7 hours I'll be getting on a plane, heading to Canada for clinics and a wee visit. I'm very excited and should probably get some sleep. Happy Easter everyone!!

Cheers,
Eiren
